American Empire?
I took this out of an article regarding President Bush's speech last night on the illegal immigration problem.
In a migrant shelter in caudate juries, a group of 10 Central Mexicans and Central Americans watched a soap opera while Bush's speech was broadcast live on the other channel.
"People here have more important things to do then watch Bush," said carols amide lurch, a Dominican monk who works in the shelter. "This plan to send soldiers is one more sign of the decadence of the American empire."

Two questions. If the American 'Empire' (Where's Darth Vader? Oh wait- that's Karl Rove) is so bad, why do so many of his people risk their lives to get here, and why not instead stay where it is so apparently pristine, like Central America and this migrant shelter?
